"Thou
shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness
of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the
earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth"
(Ex 20:4):
From
the outset of Judeo/Chrisitian faith God made it clear
as it concerns images and symbol, yet still million of
Christians and Jews continue to make, wear and use all
types of symbols; pointing it Jehovah or something about
him. Even though Duet 4:14-18 states, "And the LORD
commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments,
that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to
possess it. Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves;
for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the
LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:
Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image,
the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or
female, The likeness of any beast that is on the earth,
the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,
The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground,
the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath
the earth."
Not
only was 'symbology' an Egyptian pagan practice, but also
God knew that the symbolists would eventually give more
emphasis to the symbol rather than to the living God -
idolatry. In other words, more people are concern with
being identified with an idolatrous 'fish' symbol rather
than being born again and possessing a relationship with
the creator. Christians should avoid all different types
of symbols as most often it is rooted in paganism and
therefore giving glory to the pagan god - Lucifer- without
knowing. Just look at something as the brazen serpent
that God instructed Moses to make in the wilderness to
heal the people when they looked at it; just a piece of
object. Some idoltrous Israelites had to identify a deity
with it and it became an idol. Thank God the bible said
King Hezekiah, who "did that which was right in the
sight of the Lord," broke it into pieces because
they began to burn incense to it. Symbols become bad when
you start giving some divinity to it, both pagan and Christian.
For Christians, God doesn't need nothing to be identified
with, he is God all by himself!
When
the Israelites left Egypt, God wanted a people that would
follow after him wholly on a daily basis and would not
rely on nothing else for anything affiliated with him;
and that most certainly includes the Egyptian 'symbological'
practices. He denouncement of it can be seen through the
entire bible and presently seen in the giving of the Law
at Mt. Sinai. God said it then and it stands forever,
"Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any
likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that
is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath
the earth" (Due 5:8).

Someone
asked me about the rain bow, that is now used amongst
the homosexual community. The following response will
shed some more light on the whole matter of symbology.
The
rainbow in and of itself is not an earthly symbol, as
we know symbol. If it were, everything in the sky would
be. It was a masterpiece by God representing a covenant
to mankind. The same God that says not to make images
of anything in the heavens.... Then it would become a
symbol, because man/spirit innovated it.
The
originator of the rainbow is God; therefore the original
intent was good and always will be. Therefore, the colors
in the sky doesn't represents homosexuality, it represents
God's covenant to man. The fish, ankh, etc were originally
used for occultism, therefore the original intent was
evil and cannot be good. Purpose can never be evaded,
whatever you were created to do that will you do. Whatever
a thing was created for that's what it is, that's why
it was created; regardless of whosoever has it.
The
peace sign is a broken cross, representing that they broke
Christs hands and authority; the unbroken circle
represents the unbroken rule of satan. Most people don't
know that, they think it means peace. Thats the
reason the word occult means hidden, because the world
of occultism is a hidden one, people using and doing evil
things unaware to the public. In the occult world the
more hidden a sign or symbol, the more power it has, says
the occultists. In the world of the occult, many symbols
are imbued with power by the magician working in conjunction
with the demonic spirit world. The wiccan leader Starhawk,
founder of the Covenant of the Goddess, knows that well.
"To cast a spell is to project energy through a symbol,"
she wrote in The Spiral Dance, her popular manual for
witchcraft. Again be careful - a word to the wise.
". . . we ought
NOT to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver,
or stone, GRAVEN BY ART and man's device."
