SAYING JAH RASTAFARI

I also understand that some 'rastas' don't confess Selassie as God, but those ones keep saying "JAH RASTAFARI!"

The mere fact it is said, out of custom, makes the claim that Selassie is God without knowing. The word *JAH is the present tense of Jehovah (that was, that is, that which is to come), which of course is GOD. The word Ras Tafari is Selassie himself. His father, Ras Micheal, gave his son Tafari (who is Selassie) this name because he felt that he would be someone great. Now puting the two words in a praise or 'shout out' would say, "God (Jah) Selassie (rastafari)" or Selassie is God; which of course is ridiculous as well as blasphemous. Because there is only one God and his saving name is called JESUS CHRIST (Yahoshua).

Bob Marley said, ". . . he never changed from his trademark introduction of 'Hail Jah Rastafari!' which was an opening prayer to Jah, the Rasta name for God." Bob Marley, in concert (Don Taylor, Marley and Me, p. 75). Notice the word Hail...to whom...Jah Rastafari. Why did he say that? Because he believed Selassie was God, he said,‘You know, momma, why is it so hard for you to believe me when I say His Majesty is God? "

So tell me now how can you say you're a Christian and say Jah Rastafari? God, who is Jesus, will not share his glory!

HE ALONE IS KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, THE CONQUERING LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH, OMNISCIENT, OMNIPRESENT, OMNIPOTENT, ALPHAOMEGA, BEGINNING AND THE END, FIRST AND THE LAST, ONLY POTENT, ONLY WISE GOD, CREATOR OF HEAVEN AND EARTH, WONDERFUL, MIGHTHY, EVERLASTING, PRINCE OF PEACE, LAMB THAT WAS SLAIN FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE WORLD, BE MAJESTY, DOMINION, HONOR, POWER AND AUTHORITY, BOTH NOW AND FOREVER MORE AMEN!!!!!!!!

SELASSIE AND 'CHRISTAFARI'

Selassie is neither Christ, nor God, just a man. Nothing more nothing less! So what if Tafari in the Aramaic means creator? Does that means he is the creator? Only a fool would think that. Jesus means Jehovah saves, most fitting for his Christly role. However, that name was a common Hebrew name, infact, translate it from the Hebrew and it refers to Joshua (Yahoshua); so really, everyone who is named Joshua really has name reference to Christ. So you see how common the name can be.

But what Christ did is what he wants to do in you. He took a common name and made it all-powerful, that at the name of Christ every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Yahoshua is Lord. Not any one who bears the, but the Christ or Messiah.

Can selassie do that, though he was a godly man? No! For only God can lay down his life and take it back up again, which he did when he was crucified and resurrected. Praise his Holy name!!!!! For there is no other name under heaven given amongst men whereby we MUST be save!! Give him praise and glory!!!

LOCKS

Dread locks is not a rasta issue, Samson had seven locks, David had locks and beard, Elijah had locks, Absolm -David's son (the most beautiful man in all Israel at the time) had locks, Christ and more than likely all his disciples had locks - but he didn't preach rastafarianism. Locks was a tradition and beauty, not a religion. Elisha another man of God shaved his head and when he cross over the river after receiving Elijah's mantle the children teased him and called him "bald head man." Guess what he did under the power of God, he cursed them and a bear came out of the wood and eat them.
 
Therefore, locks or no lock is not the issue, what is taught is. Selassie is no God, nor Christ, nor our savior. It doesn't matter if he is in the lineage of David, many of us are, because David had tons of children and grandchildren. Selassie or Ras Tafari was a honorable Ethopian leader and nothing more.

If you think Locks is something spiritual or a 'must have', look who also had locks - "Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. Take the millstones, and grind meal: uncover thy locks, make bare the leg, uncover the thigh, pass over the rivers" (Isaiah 47:1-6) - The wicked Babylonians!
 
God doesn't matter if you 'dread' or not, whether you eat meat or not, or live on greens. What matters is Jesus Christ, after he came to earth and died, no one has an excuse when judgment comes for not believing in him, repenting, being baptised in full immersion of water in the name of  LORD JESUS CHRIST and receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost, evidence by speaking in another tongue (Acts 2:38).

For the nazarite vow, I am quiet aware of it. But like the other OLD Testament vows, laws and rituals, they are all fulfilled in Christ and ye are complete in him. If you want to grow locks, by all means do it. But don't let it be a religious issue.

Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of the whole law, ye are complete in him, that is, after being born again. This is the greatest of all vows, which God through his spirit causes you to keep. There is only covenant that God has with mankind today and it's all about him; "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people" (Heb 8:10).

Three verses after said, "In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away" (Heb 8:13).

Paul taught us, "for by one offering he has perfected forever them that are sanctified [born again]." Therefore, you are perfect, holy, righteous and it's eternal, never ending! Praise be to the name of JESUS CHRIST OF NAZARETH for his glorious acts of making us mere men righteousness.

ETHIOPIA

Ethiopia is not Israel, neither is it strictly of Jewish heritage. It does share a similarity with Israel, as per the scriptures. That is, it and Israel came out of Egypt; though Jews were from another ethnic background first and Ethiopians are from their fellow Egyptians. Here is the Scripture were God made mention of this similarity:

"Are ye not [like the] as children of the Ethiopians unto me, O children of Israel? saith the LORD. Have not I brought up Israel out of the land of Egypt?" Amos 9:7

So like Israel, Ethiopia was brought out of Egypt; probably because of the same bondage. Nevertheless, God had a special care for them because of this. That's why when the HolyGhost was first outpoured, Ethiopia was the first nation to be preached to; and thus, has the longest heritage of Christianity of all the Gentiles. God made sure to tell the Apostle Philip to go to the Ethiopian Eunuch immediately. Here is the encounter:

"And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert. And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship, Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet. Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot." (Acts 8:26-29)

It is then clear from this scripture that Ethiopia had adopted the Jewish Religion - "sitting in his chariotread Esaias the prophet." Many other nationalities () also did that when God scattered the nations through King Nebuchadnezzar. But seeing that man was of such great authourity meant the entire nation, rather than a few devouts, clinged to Jewry. This is the reason many rasta's believe Ethiopia is Israel. Unfortunately, there are two many scriptures in the Old Testment that makes a clear distinction to make that assumption.

On the other hand, you that esteem Ethipioa so high, here is what God said he'll do through Nebuchadnezzar,"In that day shall messengers go forth from me in ships to make the careless Ethiopians afraid, and great pain shall come upon them, as in the day of Egypt: for, lo, it cometh"(Eze 30:9). And he did, just because they were in league with Egypt. Read the book!
 
Who then is to be feared. A nation, a culture, a man or GOD. Who then is to be respected, a nation, a culture, a man or God? Alliance to an Nation wont do nothing for you spiritually! The real question is:

Are you save?
