THE DEAD FROG

If you took a live healthy frog and threw him into a pot of boiling water it would immediately jump out to save himself from sure death. If however, you took that same live, healthy frog and placed it in a large cool pot of water it would probably be quite content there.

If you then put the pot on top of your stove and put the burner on very low, the frog would still be quite happy, never feeling the very low heat ever so slightly rising from the bottom. As the water slowly rises in temperature the frog hardly notices. It simply becomes accustomed to the very gradual rise in temperature. By the time the frog notices that it has no strength left, and is becoming increasingly more lethargic as the heat rises. . . .It is too late to do anything about it. It's dead.

That is very much like the way the world has been. If we saw some of the shows that are on TV today just twenty years ago, thousands of viewers would be calling the TV station demanding that the shows be removed.

It would not have been too many years ago that many would be arrested for public indecency for dressing in many of todays styles.

I can remember when a man never swore in the presence of a lady. Today many women speak with the same foul language.

Not too long ago it would have been considered murder if a mother had an abortion for just her personal convenience. Today it's accepted by the majority.

I can remember as a kid, my dad having a pickup truck that you did not need a key to start. You just stepped on the starter pedal. Today we need sophistiated alarms, ignitions and locks to try and keep our vehicles from being stolen in many areas of the country.

We never needed to lock the doors as a kid, now in many areas people don't feel safe if they don't have bars on the windows.

People used to say hello to each other as they passed on the street. Now people often don't talk to each other riding in the confines of an elevator.

Not too long ago people could listen to the news for years without hearing about a war. Today most would have difficuty in listing all the wars currently in progress.

Here are just a few more . . . .

The quantity of foul language being used in the movies and on television.
R-Rated films charting at the top of the movie roster.
People killing each other over minor conflicts.
Individuals who commit heinous crimes with no remorse.
An endless parade of TV talk shows with immoral topics.
Doctors who help people kill themselves.
Ads for condoms promoting immoral acts.
The occult in children's shows.
The proliferation of psychic phone lines.
The number of gay characters in prime time programs.
People suing for trivial reasons.
The meltdown of the legal system.
The ending of rules requiring a family hour on television.
Horrific murders that quickly become old news.
Smut magazines which can now be found on most newsstands.
Gambling in almost every state.
Christian networks replacing their gospel programs with hedonistic infomercials.
s¥x Crimes, Murder, Drug Use, Homos¥xuality, Robbery, Child Abuse, and more are all on the rise.

My friend the pot is beginning to boil. . . . . But I know someone that can lift you out and save you from sure destruction. His name is Jesus.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:1-7

Man is constantly changing, making up new rules in which to live by. But God's word never changes:

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever." Hebrews 13:8

And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord. Acts 22:16
