End of the Age / Rapture /
Gathering of the Elect
by Brother L.
Harrell
Will the gathering be before
or after great trouble / great
tribulation?
What happens when the trumpet
sounds?
"In a
moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump:
for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead
shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be
changed." (I. Corinthians 15:52)
"Immediately after the tribulation
of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon
shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from
heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
And then shall appear the sign of the Son
of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the
earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in
the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he
shall send his angels with a great sound of a
trumpet, and they shall gather together his
elect from the four winds, from one end of
heaven to the other." (Matthew 24:29-31)
"And
at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince
which standeth for the children of thy people: and there
shall be a time of trouble, such as never was
since there was a nation even to that same time:
and at that time thy people shall be
delivered, every one that shall be found written
in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of
the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and
some to shame and everlasting contempt." (Daniel
12:1-2)
"And
when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then
know that the desolation thereof is nigh." (Luke
21:20)
"Men's
hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after
those things which are coming on the earth: for the
powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then
shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with
power and great glory. (Luke 21:26-27)
Will the kingdom of God be
setup before, during or after the fourth beast devours
the whole earth?
"Thou,
O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great
image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before
thee; and the form thereof was terrible. This image's
head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of
silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, His legs of
iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay." (Daniel
2:31-33)
"And
in the days of these kings shall the God of
heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be
destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other
people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all
these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever." (Daniel
2:44)
"And
of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other
which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that
horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great
things, whose look was more stout than his fellows. I
beheld, and the same horn made war with the
saints, and prevailed against them; Until the
Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to
the saints of the most High; and the time came that the
saints possessed the kingdom." (Daniel
7:20-22)
"And
he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to
blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that
dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make
war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power
was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and
nations." (Revelation 13:6-7)
Will the gathering be before
or after the man of sin is
revealed?
"Now
we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto
him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled,
neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from
us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man
deceive you by any means: for that day shall not
come, except there come a falling away
first, and that man of sin be revealed,
the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself
above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so
that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing
himself that he is God." (II. Thessalonians
2:1-4)
"And I
saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was
given unto them: and I saw the souls of them
that were beheaded for the witness of
Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not
worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had
received his mark upon their foreheads, or in
their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a
thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again
until the thousand years were finished. This is the
first resurrection." (Revelation
20:4-5)
God died for our sins. We need to
repent, receive baptism in Jesus' name, receive the Gift
of the Holy Ghost, and live in peace and holiness. We
will not make it by might, nor by power, but by the
Spirit of Christ.
"Knowing this first, that there shall
come in the last days scoffers, walking after their
own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his
coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all
things continue as they were from the beginning of the
creation." (II. Peter 3:3-4)
"These
are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own
lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words,
having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken
before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ; How
that they told you there should be mockers in the last
time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having
not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves
on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep
yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of
our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life." (Jude
1:16-21)
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear;
but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2
Timothy 1:7)
"If ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if
ye forsake him, he will forsake you." (From 2 Chronicles
15:2)
"Let your conversation be without covetousness;
and be content
with such things as ye have: for
he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake
thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my
helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto
me." (Hebrews
13:5-6)
Grace be unto you.
