THE VOICE...
Oct 2, 2002

"The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord"

Praise the Lord Friends and thanks for your prayers,

Remember last week we started a topic on Instinct and Intelligence, well we are back there again to finish what we started. We were left hanging with the following question:

If we can then override instinct by not sinning, can we then control our destiny since instinct is defeated?

But first let me give you a little update. Remember sheila, the African accountant from Uganda who recieves our newsletter. The same lady, who after reading one of our books (The Voice..) from our website decided to get baptise in Jesus name. The Lord let me to contact this apostolic church in Uganda, Pastor Arlon and Darline Royer, and they were glad to get Sheila buried in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Here is a letter from them with a picture of sheila:

Dear Brother Oneil,

Good news!
We met with Sheila on Friday, which was a special-called holiday to provide for Census taking.
Bro. Royer led her through the Scriptures regarding what it means to be "born again" in biblical terms. She showed great interest as he led her through the Scriptures on repentance, water baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost. At the conclusion she assured us that she will get baptized. She said that she will begin coming to the Wednesday night Bible study at our Central Church. We introduced her to our assistant pastor who will be on hand to baptize her whenever she is ready to take the step. We trust she will have been baptized by the time we return from our Stateside trip. Our assistant is a university graduate and quite able to communicate with her on her level of thinking.
Sheila is a lovely young lady with a sharp mind, and she does manifest a sincere desire to obey God's Word. I am attaching a photo I took of her following our visit and Bible study with her. The car is hers and reflects that she is doing well. Here's the picture of sheila. [Behind here is the development of the Apostolic church and school in Uganda. Please pray for the work in Africa]

Sheila wrote me this morning and said she will be getting baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday. I'm too overjoyed to talk any more about it.

Now back to the scheduled lesson on "Instinct and Intelligence"!

If we can then override instinct by not sinning, can we then control our destiny since instinct is defeated?

We were made with instinct, but given intelligence by the same creator. After studying the Old Testament, I realized that God spoke our purpose and built us with it and it must come to pass, like how you instinctively eat. Before Samson was born it was told to his father by an angel what Samson would ultimately do to the Philistines. That was actually accomplished exclusively in his death. But all through his life and nearing his death he had no idea what God was doing and how it was God’s will for him to be capture to destroy the Philistine. Probably then he wouldn’t have asked for his life; knowing that it wasn’t his fault. But rather, all that he went through was planned by the Lord, as the writer of his autobiography finally concluded in Judges. I then get to understand that the intelligence is given to us so that we may realize what he is doing. Paul could have given up in Jail, being humiliated as the guru of Apostles; just like Samson. But he had a relationship with God and knew purpose and he assuredly sang praises to God. Then the bible said at midnight… and you know the rest.

That's why Jesus told the disciples “you are no longer servants but friends, because a servant does not know what the master does.” Even better we are now sons - having the ability to participate in the action! (So much for Sir Hamilton quote!) Same purpose that will come to pass, however, your participation can generate variations. Same tree, but you can either use an axe, chain saw or knife to cut it down. This causes us to praise God even more and make us accountable to purpose. What a sense of peace and meaningful living when you know where you came from, why you’re here, where you’re going? Though ignorance won’t stop purpose, knowing and involving in its process is worth living for. Paul accomplished this and could have said that he finished his course he ran the race.

Use of instinct and intelligence...

When I was in my native country three years ago and the police were fighting against the gunmen, I noticed that the gunmen would use a child or woman to shield them. He is playing upon the instinct of the police. Not only are they trained to not hurt innocent civilians, but the gunmen know that instinctively the police wouldn't hurt a harmless child. Not that they couldn't, because Hollywood has made some super cops on television that are above and below the law and every cop in town wants to be like them. Luckily that civilian wasn't harmed. We can gain from this as well.

Look at this, "And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day"(1 Chro. 5:26). Here is another astonishing one, "And Jehozadak went [into captivity], when the LORD carried away Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar" (I Chro 6:15). God was the one who led these evil kings to fight and even capture his people. We have already seen where God is the one who does both evil and good in us instinctively. But ponder this; these evil kings have it set in their minds that it was of their own military ingenuity that got them the victory. Way from the truth! Similarly, these devils that plague us, because of the word, have no idea that they are doing it instinctively and if by instinct they have no real power. Just this morning I was reading Ezekiel 1-3 and how the seraphim moved and went, they were like machines instinctively following the spirit of the Lord wherever he went. Even the bible said their spirit was in the wheel which followed the spirit of the Lord, they have no choice but to follow the Lord. From the Seraphim, cherubim to the archangels to the living creatures on earth are made with instinct.

We as sons of God are higher than devils (fallen angels) because though we are driven by instinct, we can control it through God's spirit. Paul writes, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance [self-control]: against such there is no law" (Gal 5:22-23). Devils have no real power, because if they did, they would realize that they cannot fight against God and win. So when your 'so-called' human enemies trouble you, it's not them. The devil is using their built in instinct to get at you. Control your instinct to retaliate and be the bigger person. You have real power if you can control instinct - in actuality moving God's hand.

Advantages of Instinct and intelligence…

God uses instinct for his purpose and he can precisely know what will happen in any given situation. We can do the same thing. For instance, when devils and all evil come upon us and God commands us not to fear, he knows that he instinctively place it in these devils to react to its victims fear. Not only that, but they cannot do you any harm unless God instinctively put it there. No wonder he asked, “And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?” He is the master of instinct and can manipulate it either way. In other words, they can’t do evil in and of themselves, God has to instinctively put it there. So if he takes it away, how can such a one do evil. And if he puts evil, how can such a one do good.

Even the coming one world government and New World Order cannot be accomplished without God’s doing. Even though these leaders’ (both humans and spirit) heart are set on evil to bring about the anti-Christ and do all sort of spiritual whoredoms, they lack the spiritual intelligence, will and power to do it. They might be diabolically clever, but they fail to realize that it’s ultimately God who controls the affairs of men, even though he doesn’t seems to be physically involved. The LORD use the prophet Zephaniah to speak of them, he said, “Therefore wait ye upon me, saith the LORD, until the day that I rise up to the prey: for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour upon them mine indignation, even all my fierce anger: for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy” (Zep 3:8).

And that’s why I believe the happenings of Sept 11 was allowed by God, because God outrighly said, “I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things” (Isaiah 45:7) and he clarifies the Sept 11 issue by saying, “shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?” (Amos 3:6)

You as saints are privilege to know this, like David found out himself. He was such a willing participant in the will of God that anything he did (good or bad) and God was to intervene he often said, "If it seemeth right unto you do it". That’s why God loved David. Because he wanted the will of God to be done even if he is to be punished or die. I still can’t understand it, how could he be such a willing participant in the will of God if he wasn’t blessed with the intelligence we sons of God have through the Holy Spirit. He accepted the fact that God is sovereign and can do all things. After he saw how God put him up, tore him down and put him up again for a few times too, he didn’t murmur or complain; he didn’t say, “what kind of God is this, what is he doing?” He just went along with the plan. That’s why even before this dispensation of Grace, God revealed unto him about instinct and intelligence and he could have concluded,

“Then went king David in, and sat before the LORD, and he said, Who am I, O Lord GOD? and what is my house, that thou hast brought me hitherto? And this was yet a small thing in thy sight, O Lord GOD; but thou hast spoken also of thy servant's house for a great while to come. And is this the manner of man, O Lord GOD? And what can David say more unto thee? for thou, Lord GOD, knowest thy servant. For thy word's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all these great things, to make thy servant know them. Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears” (2 Sam 7:18-21).

Before I again leave with Elder Herrol Saddler's sermon, which deals with a few areas of what you’ve just read, let me say this: Given that God is in control and he knows all things why do you as a Pastor/leader fret about losing your congregation/position to a talented Bro. /Sis that the Lord is using? Don’t you know that this is sickening to God? It breeds distrust. Tell me which man can take away what God gave to you and which man can keep what God didn’t give. This shows great insecurity and lack of trust in God, bad example. How dare you fret over your so-called enemies when God controls the affairs of our heart? Why do you, being a wife, falsely accuse your saved husband of adultery because he was out late witnessing? Can your fretting and inquisitive accusation change anything? If God doesn’t keep the man he cannot be kept, it is better to go on your knees and ask God to keep your spouse. Why do you as a teen, think God cannot cause you not to have unwed sex, who is the one who gave you those instinctive desires in the first place? Why do we limit God, can he not do everything? Is there anything too hard for him? The God I know is great and greatly to be praised a hundred times over!!!

Part 3 continues next week with some shocking revelations.

P.s: The publishers wrote me just yesterday with the contract and even though it's not an apostolic publisher, the group of editors rated the manuscript extremely high for theological soundness. I thought it might be rejected because this is 3rd largest custom publishing company in North America. Thanks be to God and thanks for your prayers. Some of the cost I have to bear are not easily accesible at the moment, so if anyone wants to help spread this message around the world by donations you can click here. I most greatly appreciate it.

"REJOICE" - By Dale James (Eac-Slipe Rd)

So much He did, so much he does for those who care so little

The love, compassion had he on those who covered Him with spittle

They beat Him and they scorned Him, the one ever so kind
Although the people wronged Him, there's no evil in his mind

The man so sick with palsy, who was lowered through the roof

That God can save and satisfy he holds this blessed proof

But though God’s power was obvious to the priests and scribes it seemed

That God the mighty Saviour had openly blasphemed

You all know ’bout them lepers who could stand to hurt no more

And when God gave the healing He had opened up the door

To joy, peace and contentment that they’d longed for e’er so much

But only one of ten returned to thank Him for the touch

And on the Sabbath day our God did heal the withered hand

Of a man who sat at peace within the great big synagogue

And when the Pharisees saw this sight they went straight to discuss

How they could destroy the mighty King, the one and only Jesus

And so with this discussion it was planned to crucify

Our Elohim. our El Shaddai who knew that He would die

And with this plan in progress, our God got fit and chaste

As He prayed and talked with Moses a gruesome death He had to face

The savage beasts they swarmed Him, to tear away His flesh

But little did they know, no harm could come to one who’s blessed

And as the Saviour hung there in pride, compassion, love

He prayed for their forgiveness, they knew not what they’d done

So when He gave the Ghost up, it was a sign to men

That though they’d killed Him Roman style our God would rise again

And so He was triumphant over death, hell and the grave

His very precious blood was shed our precious souls to save

Rejoice!
